Abstract: After a long period of “modernization” in Thailand, which ceased in 1940, a construction wave swept through the country, erecting many different types of modern buildings—which included typical complexes, as well as stylized architectural examples. a wave of architecture was initiated. In the early days of this wave, Architects 49 Limited, led by Nithi Sthapitanonda, began an exploration of regionalism in their work. Thai contemporary architecture has been in bloom since the beginning of the twenty-first century. This essay focuses on the contemporary architecture of Thailand in Southeast Asia. Specifically, it concentrates on the exploration of modernity, regionalism, and futurism in Thai architecture led by twelve architectural firms from 1940 to 1980.
